Bringing Your Puppy Home

At HAPPY TRAIL PUPS, we understand that your perfect puppy might be miles away. We are experienced in coordinating safe, low stress transportation to ensure your new family member arrives happy and healthy. Whether you prefer to visit our nursery in person or have your puppy delivered to your door, we have a solution that prioritizes the puppy’s well being.

1. Local Pickup

We always love meeting our puppy families in person! Once your puppy is ready to leave the nursery (typically at 8–10 weeks), you can schedule a pickup appointment.

  • Location: [Your City, State]

  • Cost: Depends

  • Benefits: You get to see where your puppy was raised and receive an in person “Puppy Orientation” from us.

2. Flight Nanny Service (Recommended)

For families across the country, we highly recommend our Flight Nanny Service. This is the gold standard for puppy transportation in 2026.

  • How it Works: A professional puppy nanny carries your puppy in cabin under their seat for the duration of the flight.

  • Personal Care: Your puppy is never alone in cargo. The nanny provides potty breaks, water, and cuddles during layovers.

  • Delivery: You meet the nanny at your nearest major airport at a designated time or directly to your door step.

  • Cost: Usually  depends on the flight distance and nanny availability.

3. Ground Transport

If you are within a [5–10 hour] radius, we can recommend trusted, USDA licensed ground transporters.

  • Safety: These professionals use climate controlled vehicles and stop frequently for exercise and sanitation.

  • Door-to-Door: Many ground transporters offer delivery directly to your driveway.

  • Cost: Varies based on mileage.

4. Meeting Halfway

Depending on our schedule, we may be able to meet you at a halfway point for a flat delivery fee. This is a popular option for families in neighboring states.

  • Fee: Calculated per mile/hour to cover time and fuel.

Important Delivery Policies

  • Final Health Check: Every puppy must have a final “Fit to Fly” or “Fit to Travel” exam by our veterinarian within [10 days] of departure.

  • Weather Restrictions: For the safety of the puppy, we reserve the right to delay delivery if extreme weather (heat or cold) poses a risk during travel.

  • Payment: Shipping and delivery fees must be paid in full at least [7 days] before the scheduled departure date.

  • No Cargo Shipping: For the safety and mental health of our miniature dachshunds, we do not ship puppies as solo cargo on airplanes. They must be accompanied by a person at all times.
